Kay Adroa became the second first lady in 1966. Kay was a christian and daughter of reverend Adroa. Amin wanted a girl from his home area in the West Nile where she was also from.[17]The couple did not marry in a church, but rather a register’s office like Malyamu. When they were married, Amin showed her off to the country. [18] Amin divorced Kay in 1973 over the radio because of rumors that she had a lover and her involvement with business affairs. It also turned out that Kay was his cousin.[19] Kay died of unclear circumstances in a clinic in 1974 along with the doctor that she was rumored to be having an affair with. Her body was dismembered and sewn back together. Amin took the children to view her body.
