Idi Amin, originally Idi Amin Dada, was born 1925 in Koboko, Uganda. Idi Amin was a member of the Northwestern Uganda group of Kakwa. Amin had very little education when in 1946, he joined the King’s African Rifles of the British Colonial Army as the assistant cook.[1]
