In October 1978, Amin ordered an invasion of Tanzania because supposedly, the latter planned to overthrow his government. Unfortunately, the invaders were repelled and Tanzanians and exiled Ugandan Soldiers continued their pursuit of Amin until his government was overthrown on April 11, 1979.[52] Amin later the fled to Libya and stayed their a couple of years until he moved again to Jidda, Saudi Arabia where he would live out his last days.[53]
